Workshop: Food Preservation 101

Date: 08/10 | Time: 12:00 – 1:00 PM | Location: Bullock Texas State History Museum

Workshop: Food Preservation 101 – Discover the ins and outs of food preservation, then try it for yourself.

During WWI, the United States government promoted home gardening to help ease food rationing during the war effort. As “victory gardens” became popular, food preservation became essential to make the most of their harvests. In conjunction with the exhibit WWI America, join experts Sonia Coyle and Elsie Lacy who are County Extension Agents-Family and Community Health from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service for a workshop on the essentials of food preservation. With food preservation 101, et the basics on different techniques, then take what you’ve learned and try it at home.

The Bullock Texas State History Museum is a division of the Texas State Preservation Board. Additional support for educational programming provided by the Texas State History Museum Foundation.
