Date: 01/29 – 01/30 | Time: 8:00 AM – 1:45 PM | Location: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Austin
Join us January 29–31, 2020, for our next Real Places Conference 2020, which brings together in Austin hundreds of individuals and organizations dedicated to protecting and preserving Texas’ historic places and the stories they tell.
Hosted by the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission, the conference provides an opportunity for preservationists and officials to network and learn with County Historical Commissions,
Main Street managers and participants, historic preservation officers and design review boards, architects and engineers, historians, archeologists, curators, interpreters, managers of museums and historic sites, as well as Texas Historical Commission staff, Texas Heritage Trail Regions, and other partner agencies.
In addition to the regular conference schedule, Real Places 2020 will offer pre-conference workshops and tours for various audiences on Wednesday, January 29th. As part of the events, the THC’s award-winning Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program will present its annual Texas Courthouse Stewardship Workshop for county officials and facilities managers, as well as special technical preservation sessions on maintaining historic buildings. We’ll again be offering continuing education credits for architects and planners.
