Meeting your special someone shouldn’t be anything but a comfortable and relaxed experience. Creating a private club atmosphere while recognizing our clients are also our product – we reward lovely daters with discounts and complimentary events and refuse service to anyone we don’t think you’ll fancy meeting. This is where being lovely has it’s perks!

The perfect opportunity to find a companion for concerts, festivals or shows. Unleash your inner foodie, adventure junkie or health and wellness guru with someone just like yourself.

What is SpeedAustin Dating & UK Style?

SpeedAustin Dating is imported directly from the UK. It is American Speed Dating with an English touch. A relaxed and comfortable approach to speed dating. Rewarding lovely daters with discounts and complimentary events while saying no thank you to anyone we don’t think you’ll fancy meeting.

Do the British Really Do it Better?

Most American speed dating parties are a bit like being at a college job fair. Complete with stopwatches, whistles and a footie captain yelling “times up” in yer face! SpeedAustin Dating, does things a wee bit differently. They don’t find anything romantic about name tags, microphones, and whistles – so they don’t use them!

Do you have to be British to attend?
Absolutely not! The company is British founded and inspired but daters are just like you.

What type of people can I expect to meet?
Speed Austin Dating tend to draw a crowd that is intelligent and amusing, sophisticated and adventurous, while always being cheeky. Daters that don’t like to settle and tend to set the trend rather than follow it. We are in part defined by our venues, and our crowd reflects such.

Austin Oktoberfest 2019

Austin Oktoberfest 2019

Date: 09/28 | Time: 5 PM – 11 PM | Location: Austin Saengerrunde

Prost! Get ready for the fall event of Austin. Austin Oktoberfest is coming to Austin Saengerrunde September 28th!

Dust off those Lederhosen & Dirndls! On Saturday, September 28th, 2019 the Austin Saengerrunde will open its doors to the 7th Annual AustOberfest (Austin +  Oktoberfest 2019).  AustOberfest is celebrating Central Texas German heritage with German-style sausage, lots of bier, contest stage, bowling and live music.

Foodways Texas and the Austin Saengerrunde are focused on the main mission: To preserve Texas foodways, history and the legacy of their vendors!

About the Austin Saengerrunde

In 1852, German settlers in Austin formed a traditional singing group. On February 8, 1879, the group officially organized as a singing society bearing the name “Saengerrunde”. The Saengerrunde is the oldest ethnic organization in Austin. Scholz Garden, a beer garden established in 1867 by German immigrant August Scholz, became a favorite meeting place for Saengerrunde members. The Scholz Garden property, originally owned by Lemp Brewery of St. Louis, included a dance hall and bowling alley as well as the restaurant and beer garden. In 1904, the Austin Saengerrunde club leased the property from Lemp Brewery and in 1908 purchased the entire property. Under the stewardship of the Austin Saengerrunde, the combined facilities have continued to provide an atmosphere that encourages members and guests to preserve and enjoy the German heritage. For more information, see www.Saengerrunde.org

About Foodways Texas

Foodways Texas was founded in July 2010 by a group of scholars, chefs, journalists, restaurateurs, farmers, ranchers, and other citizens of the state of Texas. They have made it their mission to preserve, promote and celebrate the diverse food cultures of Texas. Their group represents a movement to preserve the vibrant foodways of Texas through oral history projects, documentary films, recipe collections, and scholarly research. They seek to highlight the state’s distinctive foods and food cultures by staging an annual scholarly symposium, supporting educational food-based seminars, promoting local food networks, and partnering with universities and other non-profit organizations. It is their goal to educate future generations about the stories behind the food we eat.

Texas Craft Brewers Festival 2019

2019 Texas Craft Brewers Festival

Date: 09/28 | Time: 2 PM – 6:30 PM | Location: Fiesta Gardens

Texas Craft Brewers Festival. The greatest showcase of Texas craft beer. EVER.

The Texas Craft Brewers Fest is the largest beer festival for and by Texas Brewers. This annual event features the best of Texas craft beer and displays the thriving beer community across the Lone Star State.

Much has happened with craft beer since the first Texas Craft Brewers Festival in 2003.

Homebrewers and entrepreneurs have launched and grown craft beer businesses to serve nearby communities. Laws have been changed to make accessing Texas craft beer easier. People curious to discover new tastes have become fans, and those fans devotees.

Throughout craft beer’s re-emergence, an underlying ethos has held strong:

They are a community. They support and respect each other. And their mutual appreciation of the people, the process and the product enriches them.

The Texas Craft Brewers Festival and the Texas Craft Brewers Guild embrace this ethos, striving to be true to Texas craft beer and to benefit all involved. Today, as in 2003, the Texas Craft Brewers Festival remains by and for the Texas craft brewers and the Texas craft beer community.

They are proud to support Austin Habitat for Humanity with a portion of event proceeds.

2019 Texas Craft Brewers Festival is produced by the Texas Craft Brewers Guild.
