Now in its 44th year, A Christmas Affair is a five-day holiday market that hosts over 200 retail merchants from across the country and attracts over 25,000 patrons.

This year’s theme, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”, celebrates holidays spent with loved ones. Additionally, it captures the anticipation of The Junior League of Austin’s first Christmas in its new home, The Community Impact Center.

The 2019 A Christmas Affair dates are November 20-24th at Palmer Events Center. The A Christmas Affair Market is open to the public on the following days and times:
Thursday, November 21, 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Friday, November 22, 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
Saturday, November 23, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
Sunday, November 24, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

The Junior League of Austin uses the funds raised at A Christmas Affair to provide essential funding and volunteer hours to programs such as Coats for Kids, FIT-Food In Tummies and over 30 local community non-profits.

Attend the The 39th Annual Madrigal Dinner on November 21, 22, and 23. Expect a night of merriment and fun. There will be romance, sword fighting, drama, song, dance, and food.

Watch as a knight struggles to live up to the noble acts of her mother in the kingdom of Volina. But when powerful figures threaten to reshape the kingdom’s future, the knight teams up with some unlikely heroes in order to protect the world they all call home.

Come one, come all to the Shirley Bird Perry Ballroom in the Texas Union to join us for a five-act play, complete with choir performances, improvisation, and wenching. Of course, this wouldn’t be a Madrigal DINNER without food! The menu options are either Asiago Chicken or Cauliflower Lasagna! There will also be a cash bar. Tickets go on sale Monday, October 14 on TexasBoxOffice.com. Ticket prices range from $14 to $18 for UT students and $28 to $32 for the general public.

This event is put on by Campus Events + Entertainment Creative Arts + Theatre, a home for showcasing student talent through theatre, dance, visual arts, open mics, and Madrigal Dinner, an annual Renaissance-themed dinner theatre tradition. We provide opportunities for all students regardless of their background, experience, major, or artistic abilities. CA+T Meetings are held every Tuesday 6 pm-7 pm in the Student Activity Center (SAC) Room 1.106.

Design Shine is a collaborative exhibition put on by the UMLAUF and the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) – Austin.

Three AIA teams, all with different areas of expertise, have each been chosen to integrate an ambitious architectural installation into the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden. Each team is initiating new partnerships and collaborating in unique ways with the local community and Austin organizations.

The three Design Shine installations, titled Lost Casts, Sea Polaris, and You Are Here, will light up the Garden on November 20. Join us for the opening reception of Design Shine from 6 – 8 pm, November 20.

Let’s bring it in. Draft your team and head to Growler USA Austin on Monday, November 18th at 7pm for Friends Trivia “The One with Friends Thanksgiving Episodes”! Losers walk! Yeah, losers talk! No, no, no, actually losers rhyme.

The Friendsgiving Trivia will consist of the Friends Thanksgiving Episodes, so brush up and bring your peas to put in the trifle.

The best way to reserve tickets is by selecting a team captain and having them be in charge of tickets for ALL team members.

For example, if Monica, Chandler, Ross and Rachel are a team and Monica gets put in charge, she will then reserve tickets for herself, Chandler, Ross and Rachel = (4) in total.

Big Medium’s East Austin Studio Tour (EAST) is a free, annual, self‑guided art event spanning two weekends in November.

EAST was created to introduce the artists to the public and welcome the public to East Austin studios and creative spaces.

Big Medium is a nonprofit organization dedicated to championing and cultivating artists and the contemporary arts in Austin and across Texas. Through their programs and partnerships, they are working to foster the arts. Moreover, they work to  facilitate an inclusive cultural dialogue between artists and their communities.

All Big Medium programs seek to provide opportunities for artists to create, exhibit, and discuss their work and process. Also, their programs help celebrate a multitude of voices and practices in our creative community.

The 11th Annual UTOPiAfest will be on November 14(Pre-Party), 15, and 16, 2019 at Reveille Peak Ranch.

It’s a total experience, with outdoor activities, thought provoking workshops and lectures, curated food and beverages, and more. We combined the things we love about music festivals, and minimized the rest.

Mind-blowing musical performances and breathtaking West Texas Hill Country sunsets await next fall. UTOPiAfest offers a true alternative and full on escape from the large multiple-stage festivals that often favor quantity over a quality audience experience.

UTOPiAfest encompasses the best aspects of the festival experience; Epic performances, musical discovery, quality time with new and old friends, tasty food and enjoyable activities. The Austin Record Convention is the largest sale of recorded music in the USA.

From the 78’s of the 1930s, to CDs (and probably even a few 8-track tapes!), there are over one million 78s, 45s, LPs, CDs, cassettes, posters, collectibles and music-related memorabilia available here than at any one time, anywhere else in the country.

Over 300 different dealers from all over the USA and Europe are spread out over 40,000 square feet of floor space. The show is so big that to see everything takes most of the weekend!

About The Austin Record Convention

Founded in 1981, The Austin Record Convention brings together dealers, collectors and aficionados from points near and far for a weekend of music appreciation and activity. The ARC happens twice a year in the Spring and Fall. Held in beautiful Austin, Texas, the ‘Live Music Capital of the World’

The ARC is popular with both locals and global travelers alike. It offers a unique, immersive opportunity to experience the roots of Austin’s vibrant, musical culture.

Attendees can spend all day browsing the convention, searching for that one-of-kind record to complete their collection. And in the evening, they can venture out to sample the city’s world famous, live music scene at numerous clubs across town.
