The year is 1977 when the gasoline shortage strikes. In Austin, lines of cars wait at every gas station for a 10 gallon maximum. That’s when the idea popped: With gas in such limited supply, how will people be able to continue the great weekend pastime: garage sales? What if all the garage sales were in one location…
And so the City-Wide Garage Sale® was born. Individuals and non-profits were eager for a climate-controlled venue to have their garage and rummage sales, advertising included – rain or shine! Very quickly, antique and collectible dealers saw opportunity. Word spread and soon lines of shoppers waited to get into the building on City-Wide weekends when the sale opened on Saturday morning.
Newcomers often ask why it’s called City-Wide Garage Sale® when it’s not a regular garage sale at all. Over four decades, the name “City-Wide” has become an iconic Austin event. Austin has evolved a great deal over the past 42 years so we, too, must do the same. Stay tuned for our new name coming soon: City-Wide Vintage Sale.

The Iron Belle provides a vibrant, fun, and challenging environment for women to test themselves over the course of three workouts. All teams must work together to complete each event.
Teams will take on three events throughout the day. The top five teams in Rx, Scaled, and Masters will advance to the finale.
The Iron Belle is a women’s only team competition designed for ALL women. This event is for the team of experienced competitive females as well as the team of women looking to try their very first competition.

There can be no doubt as to why The B-52s remain one of rock music’s most beloved and enduring bands. Now with over 20 million albums sold into their career.
As the B-52s continue to celebrate their 40th Anniversary, the band announced a world-wide tour that is expected to cover more than 10 countries.
