Celebrate Austin design through a week of free workshops, talks, studio tours, and events this November as the city celebrates its creative community in the fourth annual Austin Design Week.

There are countless opportunities to learn, collaborate, and talk shop with other designers and enthusiasts. They welcome design veterans and anyone new to design — architects and service designers, Austin residents and visitors. Help #MakeSpace at #ADW19 this November 4h – 8th.

Run For The Flag 2019

Run For The Flag 2019

Date: 11/02 | Time: 8 AM – 12 PM | Location: Camp Mabry

Run in the third annual Run for the Flag race, Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Camp Mabry, 2210 W. 35th St, Austin.

Dr. Merritt Pember, Direct Orthopedic Care surgeon and veteran U.S. Army Major (Operation Iraqi Freedom), a team of DOC military service veterans, and sponsor partners created the Run for the Flag race. This race is to honor veterans and as a fundraiser for Folds of Honor.

Major Dan Rooney created Folds of Honor Foundation to provide educational scholarships. These scholarships are benefit spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.

Race categories include:  Wheelchair, Active, Retired and Reserve Duty, Youth, the Community, and Kids 10 and under fun run when accompanied by a registered parent. A virtual run is available for anyone who cannot run on race day or non-runners can donate to Folds of Honor at the race site.

Formula 1 United States Grand Prix – The pinnacle of motorsports returns to Austin, Texas for a weekend-long celebration of speed and sound.

COTA announced that they will welcome two world-renowned musical acts to the Super Stage at the 2019 FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX. On Saturday, November 2, GRAMMY® Award-winning and international pop icon P!NK. She is sure to ‘get the party started’ and give fans an unforgettable performance. She will take the Super Stage at COTA. While on Friday, November 1, GRAMMY® Award-winning band Imagine Dragons will start the weekend on a high note after the first day of qualifying races.

COMMEMORATIVE STOCK: 3-day Grandstand and Bleacher tickets ordered by Labor Day are printed on commemorative stock.

COTA RAIN INSURANCE: Should it rain 1.5″ in the 24 hours leading up to start of the Grand Prix on Sunday, November 3, all 3-day seats (grandstands and bleachers) purchased by July 20 receive a 105% refund.

Kids 2 and under receive complimentary General Admission.

Circuit of The Americas is the premier destination for world-class motorsports and entertainment in the United States.  It’s set on 1,500 acres in the rolling hills just outside downtown Austin. Circuit of The Americas has hosted the biggest names in racing, action sports and music since 2012. At its heart is a 3.41-mile racetrack that was designed to challenge the world’s most exacting competitors. It provides a thrilling spectacle for audiences.

The Texas Downtown Association (TDA) is a statewide, independent nonprofit organization. It represents cities and towns of all sizes, economic development corporations, chambers of commerce, small businesses, nonprofits, and individuals from across Texas.

TDA was founded by Anice Read, who is credited with bringing the Main Street Program to Texas. She and representatives from the largest Texas cities wanted to create an organization that would connect downtown supporters from across the state.

It’s creepy, crawly and so much fun it’s spooky!

Your little ghost or goblin will help haunt the Long Center for the Performing Arts for the Austin Symphony’s annual Halloween Children’s Concert. This exciting concert features frightfully fun symphonic music that is stimulating for young eyes and ears (ages 2–10). The entire family is invited to dress up in their favorite costume . Let everyone enjoy “boo-tiful” music with their Austin Symphony Orchestra!

This season’s featured piece will be selections from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. Narration by Austin storyteller, Bernadette Nason. Other fun pieces will be performed that will keep you and your entire family entertained.

This concert is a wonderful chance for you to introduce your children to the wonders of live orchestral music. The hall will be decorated top to bottom to enhance your little one’s concert experience. WEAR YOUR COSTUMES!

Concert is at 3:00 p.m. and will last approximately one hour.

These concerts are made possible by the James C. Armstrong Youth Education Endowment.

Join the 24th annual Texas Book Festival—A weekend of book talks, signings, family activities, and more, held in and around the Texas State Capitol in downtown Austin.

The Festival Weekend is free and open to the public!

One of the largest and most prestigious literary festivals in the country. The annual Texas Book Festival features 250+ nationally and critically recognized authors, 20+ venues including the State Capitol, 100+ exhibitors, local food trucks, family activities, and countless opportunities to meet authors and fellow book lovers.

Founded in 1995 by First Lady Laura Bush, the Festival has hosted thousands of notable and award-winning authors over the years. Authors including Margaret Atwood, Robert Caro, Sandra Cisneros, Salman Rushdie, Cheryl Strayed, Walter Mosley, Molly Shannon, Frank McCourt, Ziggy Marley, Liz Carpenter, Doris Kearns Goodwin, and many, many others.

The 24th annual Texas Book Festival will be held October 26-27, 2019. The Festival runs from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday. And 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday. The Texas Book Festival Weekend is free and open to the public. This takes place in Austin, Texas, at the State Capitol and surrounding grounds.

The Texas Book Festival is a non-profit organization. They welcome your contributions to help produce this popular annual event and year-round literary events. Moreover, contributions support their literacy programs and grants to Texas public libraries. Donate to Texas Book Festival online at any time.  When you give $100 or more, they thank you with a Festival Friends Pass. The Festival Friend Pass provides priority seating and signing line access for you and one guest at select venues and signings during the Festival Weekend. They are grateful for your support of literature, libraries and literacy in Texas!

Your ticket includes admission, and include an unlimited game card for our arcade good for the duration of Adult Night. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door on the night of the event. Tickets are non-refundable after purchase.

They have Air Hockey, Corn Hole, Giant Jenga, and so much more! You and your friends won’t want to miss this night of fun and games! Tickets do sometimes sell out, so they highly recommend purchasing ahead of time.
