This is where being lovely has it’s perks!

The perfect opportunity to find a companion for concerts, festivals or shows. Unleash your inner foodie, adventure junkie or health and wellness guru with someone just like yourself.

What is SpeedAustin Dating & UK Style?

SpeedAustin Dating is imported directly from the UK. It is American Speed Dating with an English touch. A relaxed and comfortable approach to speed dating. Rewarding lovely daters with discounts and complimentary events while saying no thank you to anyone we don’t think you’ll fancy meeting.

Do the British Really Do it Better?

Most American speed dating parties are a bit like being at a college job fair. Complete with stopwatches, whistles and a footie captain yelling “times up” in yer face! SpeedAustin Dating, does things a wee bit differently. They don’t find anything romantic about name tags, microphones, and whistles – so they don’t use them!

Do you have to be British to attend?
Absolutely not! The company is British founded and inspired but daters are just like you.

What type of people can I expect to meet?
Speed Austin Dating tend to draw a crowd that is intelligent and amusing, sophisticated and adventurous, while always being cheeky. Daters that don’t like to settle and tend to set the trend rather than follow it. We are in part defined by our venues, and our crowd reflects such.

Date: 09/28 | Time: 5 PM – 11 PM | Location: Austin Saengerrunde

Prost! Get ready for the fall event of Austin. Austin Oktoberfest is coming to Austin Saengerrunde September 28th!

Dust off those Lederhosen & Dirndls! On Saturday, September 28th, 2019 the Austin Saengerrunde will open its doors to the 7th Annual AustOberfest (Austin +  Oktoberfest 2019).  AustOberfest is celebrating Central Texas German heritage with German-style sausage, lots of bier, contest stage, bowling and live music.

Foodways Texas and the Austin Saengerrunde are focused on the main mission: To preserve Texas foodways, history and the legacy of their vendors!

About the Austin Saengerrunde

In 1852, German settlers in Austin formed a traditional singing group. On February 8, 1879, the group officially organized as a singing society bearing the name “Saengerrunde”. The Saengerrunde is the oldest ethnic organization in Austin. Scholz Garden, a beer garden established in 1867 by German immigrant August Scholz, became a favorite meeting place for Saengerrunde members. The Scholz Garden property, originally owned by Lemp Brewery of St. Louis, included a dance hall and bowling alley as well as the restaurant and beer garden. In 1904, the Austin Saengerrunde club leased the property from Lemp Brewery and in 1908 purchased the entire property. Under the stewardship of the Austin Saengerrunde, the combined facilities have continued to provide an atmosphere that encourages members and guests to preserve and enjoy the German heritage. For more information, see www.Saengerrunde.org

About Foodways Texas

They have made it their mission to preserve, promote and celebrate the diverse food cultures of Texas. Their group represents a movement to preserve the vibrant foodways of Texas through oral history projects, documentary films, recipe collections, and scholarly research. They seek to highlight the state’s distinctive foods and food cultures by staging an annual scholarly symposium, supporting educational food-based seminars, promoting local food networks, and partnering with universities and other non-profit organizations. It is their goal to educate future generations about the stories behind the food we eat.
