2019 Zilker Relays

Zilker Relays September 2019

Date: 09/06 | Time: 6:30 – 10 PM | Location: Zilker Park

Zilker Relays
3 + 1 = Fun!

The Zilker Relays is a 10-mile relay with teams comprised of 4 runners. Each participant runs a 2.5 mile loop from one central festival/transition area. The team concept of the Zilker Relays is not unique, but the combination of a relay, festival home base, drinks and music, make this experience a favorite for runners of all calibers and ages. You don’t have to train like a marathoner for this one. All you have to do is be willing to run or jog 2.5 miles, enjoy live music and great food and get 3 of your siblings/kids/buddies/colleagues to come join you for this one of a kind running experience.

In addition to a great run, participants are treated to live music, dinner and a beer garden after the event. We like to reinforce the “fun factor” that running can bring into a person’s life. Running doesn’t always have to be a solo effort and racing doesn’t always have to be focused on individual achievement.

They have a great kids relay that allows for the event to make for a family outing.

City-Wide Vintage Sale Austin

The City-Wide Vintage Sale Austin

Date: 08/31 to 09/01 | Time: 10AM – 5PM | Location: Palmer Events Center

The City-Wide Vintage Sale (formerly City-Wide Garage Sale®) – Keeping Austin Vintage Since 1977.

A secret resource for Interior Designers, Set Designers and Lovers of everything Vintage!

The year is 1977 when the gasoline shortage strikes. In Austin, lines of cars wait at every gas station for a 10 gallon maximum. That’s when the idea popped: With gas in such limited supply, how will people be able to continue the great weekend pastime: garage sales? What if all the garage sales were in one location…

And so the City-Wide Garage Sale® was born. Individuals and non-profits were eager for a climate-controlled venue to have their garage and rummage sales, advertising included – rain or shine! Very quickly, antique and collectible dealers saw opportunity. Word spread and soon lines of shoppers waited to get into the building on City-Wide weekends when the sale opened on Saturday morning.

Newcomers often ask why it’s called City-Wide Garage Sale® when it’s not a regular garage sale at all. Over four decades, the name “City-Wide” has become an iconic Austin event. Austin has evolved a great deal over the past 42 years so we, too, must do the same. Stay tuned for our new name coming soon: City-Wide Vintage Sale.
